Compact and Good Quality
Works great, clear picture 4k quality, and so easy to use. Got this new one because my old fire cube’s remote started having issues with the batteries not lasting more than a few days. This version is less expensive, so compact, and same picture quality so it was a no brainer. Love it, no complaints. I have a smart tv but much rather connect the firestick and have the Amazon platform as it’s what I’m used to and it’s easy to navigate.

Excellent Device!
Setup was amazingly friendly. Not one glitch while setting up. Came with power cord and adapter. To activate Alexa push the button on the remote. Other than limited access to ad free and limited selections (I only have Amazon prime) the device works well. Pleased with the purchase and video quality is a huge improvement from classic DVDs playing on a DVD player! Guess I am old school but I think this device will work great for my application! Definitely recommend, just wish there were more selections to watch with Prime Video.

Great Streaming Device
We’ve been using the Fire TV Stick 4k for about 4 months now and it has worked perfectly. Our Sony Bravia TV is about 8 years old and is paired with a newer JBL AVR through an ARC/eARC interface. Streaming apps are OK running on just the TV, but with the addition of the AVR through the ARC interface, the TV apps suffer from stutter and drop-out problems and we get down-coverted audio modes. Some streaming apps are worse than others.All of these problems disappear when using the Fire TV Stick connected to an HDMI port on the AVR. Streaming is smooth with a solid WiFi connection, no buffering and great video quality, and we get Dolby Digital Plus 5-channel audio mode whenever available. All of the streaming services we use are available on the Fire TV Stick and run cleanly and responsively. The Fire TV Stick comes with a pretty nice selection of free “live” channels, although we spend our time watching other subscription streaming services.As an added bonus, there is a version of the VLC Media Player available to install on the Fire TV Stick. This allows us to stream our personal video collection through the Fire TV Stick WiFi connection from a shared folder on a PC with SMB file sharing enabled. No additional hardware device, media server software or special drivers are required.

4K (8GB) Hardware improvement, better streaming (Netflix, Prime) HDMI
Caught on special price sale for $30. This is an upgrade from an older Amazon Firestick. We instantly noticed how buggy it is/was on startup. It appears to “adjust” to the HDMI signal which was causing lots of static and dropped frames. It is possible that this is/was some kind of update during startup.However, on occasion we are still getting a grey static screen and service drop-out. The 4K Firestick device is brand new so we will watch it for at least a few days before determining is there is any further issue.The good news is the 4K model is a surprisingly wonderful upgrade that impoved speeds, buffering, picture quality, audio, and overall performance. Prime Video and other services and channels work so much better now!Sold! We love the upgrade and find the new remote to be much more fit for all aspects of Amazon’s video services. The initial setup was very easy with two different options to begin. In about 10 minutes we were online, downloaded, updated, and ready to begin watching streaming content.
