A Handy Tool For the Money
I tested out of the box on my Pontiac NAPA battery. The on-screen instructions are clear and the test results immediately displayed. The black on gray “Enter” and “Exit” buttons are hard to read and need to be bigger. Likewise, I had to use a magnifying glass to read the small, sometimes clumsy English instructions (“the battery is without any problem, please be relaxed to use!” and “please kindly review..”) written by a Chinese speaker. Bottom line: it works as advertised and I would buy again.

Works great. Nothing fancy, but a good value for the money.
Great little battery tester. Nothing fancy. Helped me weed through a half dozen old batteries sitting around, and also helped identify a battery in poor condition still installed in one of our vehicles.I had considered spending slightly more money for something fancier, but figured I’d give this a try first. I’m not disappointed- it gets the job done and is all I need.

Needs information you may not have.
Needs information I don’t have!I think this is probably a decent little test tool, but it needs input data that isn’t always available. Most (all?) car batteries list their claimed Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) on their labels, but I own some batteries that don’t list their amp-hour rating. When the tester needs that figure to calibrate its test, I have to guess, and then I can’t be confident that the test results are valid. It seems to me that it would be much better if the tester could test a completely unidentified battery and tell me the CCA, amp-hour, reserve capacity, and other data about the battery being tested. Since I have to provide those types of values in advance, and I don’t know them all, I ended up also buying a battery load tester that basically just shows you how well a battery can power a heavy electrical load.I’m not sure I really trust a quick low power test to tell how well a battery will perform under longer heavier loads like starting a car in winter. But in combination with the load tester, this little tester add enough extra information to be worth its price.

Works great – super value DIY tester
Operation couldn’t be simpler. Provides in and out-of-cat battery tests as well as crank/charge tests. For quick test, requests ah rating of battery which is not readily determined. Definitely recommended.

pretty easy to use
only used it on one battery so far but seems to work exactly as described. Handy tool to have around even just for routine maintenance checks.

Accurate & mostly easy to use
Easy to use and test your battery. I compared results with my multimeter and my carbon pile load tester and it was accurate. Doesn’t put a “load” on your batttery per se, but does estimate its max load capability by sending electronic current through it and measuring resistance. Screen is easy to read and has contrast adjustment options for you to tweak how you like the display. One of the best things about this unit is that it doesn’t need its own power supply! It runs on whatever battery you hook it up to.Only issue I ran into was trying to print out my battery report (if you are interested in doing this – many won’t need this option.) I docked one star for this. If you are not tech savvy, you may have an issue. You have to download a driver and the print software off their web site for your particular unit. Find the proper site in the small print in the manual because there is more than one site for this company. After doing that you have to figure out how to display the print software in english because it is in chinese. Google how to spell english in chinese and then select that in the language drop down list in the print software. Then you have to select the right Com port in the software dropdown list (trial & error works here.) Then you have to “open port” through the software, and then you have to select “print screen” on your Ancel unit. Finally, the last test result will populate the print software screen where you can then print it. Hope this helps. Having a paper report would be a valuable option to take with you to the battery vendor when trying to warranty a battery because their tester might read good and this report would give you extra ammo if you will.

This is a solid tester that, from my several tests, gives reliable results. The build quality feels sturdy, and I like the clear and easy-to-read display. The compact size makes it convenient to store and use. I appreciated the simple interface and the accuracy of the readings. One thing I liked is how quickly it evaluates battery health. The ability to test both batteries and alternators was another highlight. The cable length is decent, offering flexibility when connecting to a vehicle. The clamps are durable and provide a good grip on terminals.A small drawback is that the menus can take some getting used to, especially if you’re unfamiliar with such tools. It also doesn’t come with a carrying case, which would have been a nice addition for storage.Overall, it works exactly as expected and has been a dependable part of my diagnostic tools. It’s a no-nonsense, efficient solution for anyone who needs quick checks.
