What a great book to learn about the new year’s celebration in Chinese culture. This book includes fun facts; like having one animal as a theme for each year. Read this exciting book to find out more about the Lunar New Year!

Sami and the Lunar Year
Sami and the Lunar YearCelebrating Chinese New Year by Kim juani yo is a short book for children that is based on Chinese culture, specifically, on how the new year is celebrated in China. There we have Sami, a six year old boy, and his dog, and we will learn about the traditions of the lunar new year.Nice and vibrant graphics, and the story is entertaining, especially for very young children and to tell them before they fall asleep. At the end there is a small quiz about what you read.

New Year Celebrations
I just read “Celebrating Chinese New Year” by Kim juani yo. I will be sharing this book with my grandchildren. I believe that together we can learn celebrating Chinese New Year. We share differences and some things we do the same when we celebrate our new years customs. Family time, togetherness, is all the same. I loved learning the specific celebrations like the lion and snake dancing. I would have loved red envelopes when i was young. I recommend this book to share with children of all backgrounds and ages.

Happy New Year!
Celebrating Chinese New Year, A Kid’s Adventure Story Book is a very short but colorful book about celebrating the NEW YEAR. The youngest of kids will like the colorful graphics. In the back, there are a few questions regarding Lunar New Year History and Chinese Traditions. I wish that there had been more to the storyline before and after the celebration to come full circle.

Screams AI written Book. Wish I had known returning
No author listed.Illustrations scream AI generated.Having said that, the illustrations are very vibrant.I did take exception to the dipiction of every character and creature having blue eyes. I might expect this from an anime cartoon and I have nothing against blue eyes. But in a childrens’ book that supposed to be a representive depiction of a culture outside of our western culture this is a disappointment. This again screams of AI.I am returning because I wish I knew this was an AI product.

The story is a nice introduction to some Chinese traditions, focusing on the Year of the Snake. My grandson enjoyed the multiple choice quiz at the end.
