NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • This deeply moving novel from Danielle Steel tells the story of a woman who finds her life turned upside down while living temporarily in the French countryside.
Oona Kelly Webster has much to be grateful for. A striking woman with red hair and green eyes, she has a loving family and a job she adores, editing a prestigious line of books. To celebrate their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary, she and her husband, Charles, have planned a visit to France.
But then Charles drops a bombshell. He has been living a lie—hiding an affair for a year—and he is leaving Oona for a younger male lover.
Although devastated, Oona decides to travel to France without Charles. She arrives in a charming village an hour outside of Paris, and settles into the house she has rented, called La Belle Florence—named after the king’s mistress for whom it was built. But just as she’s catching her breath, she’s dealt another blow: Her company’s merger will eliminate her job.
In the space of a few months, everything she nurtured for decades has slipped through her fingers. The only silver lining is that she can remain in France, where the simple life in beautiful surroundings slowly begins to heal her, as does the little white dog she rescues, and her friendly neighbor hailing from Trinidad, who delights her with his openness and warmth.
Though she does not recognize him at first, she soon realizes her neighbor is a well-known actor. As their feelings for each other begin to deepen, Oona wrestles with the risks of opening her heart again—especially to a younger, very famous man.
Never Say Never is an inspiring novel about a woman who finds a second chance at happiness and love, all because she understands the importance of being brave enough to stay open to change.

Easy to read.
This book is wonderful. I have read all of Danielle Steele’s novels and this one is just as good as always. I don’t know how she continues to write such interesting novels.

Another 5 star masterpiece
I wish I knew how DS manages to keep coming up with these amazing novels. This one was fantastic, compelling characters, a great story, made me laugh, smile and eventually happy tears. Couldn’t put it down !!

Feel-good story with a happy ending.
In Danielle Steel’s “Never Say Never”, Oona Kelly Webster’s life seems so perfect that it’s practically begging for a plot twist. And boy, does it get one!Her husband of twenty-five years decides he’s had enough marital bliss and trades her in for a younger male model. Oona is devastated by her husband’s revelation, and soon, she jets off to France for an extended holiday that was originally planned for both her and her husband. The French countryside is charming, the food is divine, and then, the pandemic hits. Trapped in France, Oona’s life throws her another curve ball and then, a beacon. Suddenly there’s light at the end of the tunnel. But only if she can allow herself to take the leap.”Never Say Never” is a delightful mix of heartbreak, humor, and second chances. Oona’s journey is relatable, even if your own life hasn’t involved being stranded in France during a pandemic (fingers crossed). I’ve been a fan of Danielle Steel’s writing for as long as I can remember. It’s like a warm blanket, comforting and familiar. Sure, the plot might be a tad predictable, but sometimes you just want a feel-good story with a happy ending and this one delivers.

Another Typical Danielle Steel – A Good Story
This is typical Danielle Steel. Certainly not great literature but a good story. I am a little embarrassed to admit I like her novels but they are perfect for reading before turning out light for the night. Easy reading and story line not too complicated for end of day reading.

Not a Danielle Steel book
Terrible to see a book that any good author can write — I have read every book Danielle Steel ever written & she is not writing the unbelievable gripping & terrific book that she is has done in the majority of her books. This with no doubt was a ghost writer.

What a beautiful tale!
As only DS can do, a novel of highs and lows sprinkled with love and tragedy. I particularly enjoyed this tale and found the characters so believable. Covid-19 affected all of us. Our author has handled its impact on two families in a splendid way. In the end, True Love conquers all!

When Charles suddenly leaves her after 25 years of marriage, what’s Oona to do?
Oona Kelly Webster, a long-time book editor, has been married to Charles for twenty-five years, and to celebrate their anniversary, they rent a country home outside Paris. Before they can depart, Charles confesses he has fallen for a man and is moving to Buenos Aires to live with his new lover. Overwhelmed and shocked by the news, Oona decides to go to France by herself; Chalres has left her and she can’t go backward. In France she finds much beauty and also meets a handsome film actor who soon expresses an attraction for her. What to do? It’s very complicated for Oona. This touching and at times humorous story created by Daniel Steel is largely told from inside Oona’s head as she struggles to figure out what to do with the rest of her life and whether it makes any sense to fall in love with a younger, famous man who is also Black. Does she have the courage to take a big risk at this point in her life? Daniel Steel scores again.
