Rosemary’s Baby [4K UHD]
$14.49
Possibly the best horror film ever made, this brilliant adaptation of Ira Levin’s best-selling novel is the story of a loving young New York City couple who are expecting their first child. Like most first-time mothers, Rosemary (Mia Farrow) experiences confusion and fear. Her husband (John Cassavetes), an ambitious but unsuccessful actor, makes a pact with the devil that promises to send his career skyward. Director Roman Polanski elicits uniformly extraordinary performance from the all-star cast. Ruth Gordon won an Oscar® for her performance as an oversolicitous next-door neighbor in this classic chiller.

The price of a pact with the Devil
Women and men have different senses of justice. This is a fact, supported by evidence. What if the cost of the “pact with the devil” appears acceptable to men but unacceptable to women? In the movie “Rosemary’s Baby,” a son is the price paid. Rosemary faces gaslighting, false accusations, and torture. In contrast, her husband enjoys success and advancement. Cheating is multi-dimensional, it’s not only your partner cheating with another person… It’s your partner gaslighting you. It’s your partner sacrificing you and what you represent for career advancement and success. “Rosemary’s Baby,” released in 1968 during the year of the social revolution at Berkeley, is considered one of the finest films ever made—a true gem.

Classic Horror
This is a great movie. It’s one of those that we have watched many many times and will continue to re-view. There’s something about the moves from that era that’s more than nostalgic. They just made better movies back then, I think.

Not to detract from this brillant movie, but,no slipcover was included.
Not a real deal breaker, as I love this movie, but the slipcover that appears in all the pictures is not included. Only the plastic 4k uhd clamshell and the 4k disc and Blu-ray Disc. Just would hope that Amazon would reflect this or provide a disclaimer in its pictures. So just be warned. You may or may not receive the slipcover with purchase.

It’s very appealing
There’s nudity, but it’s no surprise as to that being under Roman Polinski’s name. His movies usually involve someone being naked, which is tiring after awhile. If a person can get past that, then it’s a rather appealing older movie. The ending was okay, maybe needs to be tweaked a little. She is standing next to the crib and a window at the end. I thought for sure that she was going to grab the baby and go crashing through the window, killing both herself and it. But she didn’t. This was the first movie I had seen starring Mia Farrow. I thought she was a doll, especially with her short hair cut. I could have gone without the nudity, but all in all, I really liked the movie and the actors.

Baffled that some don’t see the uptick vs. the Criterion blu!? Not perfect 4k UHD, but pretty great!
Though many folks aren’t as impressed with the uptick in presentation on the 4k UHD (many probably judging by screen caps)…while many others, myself included, have been pleased to experience and recognize definite improvements. Watch it in motion…there is so much more detail, depth, color improvement! It’s dinged for dropping a few words of dialogue, but more than tips the scales with the improved resolution and UHD. If this is one of your favorite films, and there’s good chance that you might fall into the second camp?…roll the dice! I can’t imagine that you’d be disappointed, and more likely than not, be quite pleased indeed. One of horror’s all-time greats, I’ve owned Rosemary’s Baby on every format, and it’s never come close to looking as good as it does on the 4k.

Prequel to Rosemary’s Baby
The movie came and played as expected. I wish there had been “extras” in the special features, but that’s not an Amazon issue. The movie itself though, did not follow canon and should have. Other than that, it played as a DVD should. If you like a horror movie, this isn’t it. I don’t recommend it one way or the other.

Amazing picture restoration
I’ve seen clips of RB here and there but never sat down to watch the movie in its entirety. I bought a used dvd of it one day and actually enjoyed the movie. Pretty shocking what they were able to show onscreen in the late 60’s.I upgraded my dvd to 4k and was blown away by the picture quality. I highly recommend watching this movie at least once.

Pues llega en buen estado. Lo único malo es que NO TRAE AUDIO O SUBTÍTULOS EN ESPAÑOL O CASTELLANO. El código digital es válido solo para USA.
