In an effort to try a less toxic alternative to my beloved Bondi Sands self tanner…I tried this. I liked it more than I expected. It definitely is more of a natural tan so if you’re looking for a dark tan you may have to apply it twice. I purchased the medium dark.I attached before/after photos which don’t quite do it justice. I applied with a tanning mitt/thick brush for my hands.It smells great, almost slightly coconut like (not like the typical self tanner smell)It did not transfer to my clothing or sheets at all. If you’re looking for a less toxic alternative I would give it a shot!

My test (light vs dark)
Only four stars because I haven’t used it heavily yet. When I ordered this one I also ordered the light colored one because I wanted to test them out to see which would be better for my skin color. I did two test applications on my arm and by the next day there was absolutely nothing So then I went ahead and put a dollop more of each on the spots where I would do the testing and I waited and the next day still nothing. I decided to try something and so I not only shook the product but then I pressed the dispenser two or three times till the foam was ejecting in a consistent manner so there was not this watery action behind it. I then applied some of the fourth pump to those spots. By the next morning I had absolutely perfect examples of the color! So then I wanted to see how badly I needed to exfoliate before I put the stuff on and I sampled it on part of my leg to see. I used the same method I had before where I shake it up and then pump it like three times until it became nothing but the foamy mousse and I put that on my leg in one application and boom, the next day I had color! I have been spending my time washing these spots with soap to see how they come off.I am pale. There’s a problem when you’re too pale, your skin almost looks gray or translucent. It’s just yucky. I wanted to put a little bit of color behind it without putting too much? You know? So I bought both colors of the light/ medium and the medium/ dark. Well, in my sampling on my skin, the medium/ dark ended up looking almost orange. It was tinged with orange. The light/ medium was not. It was more cool toned. They were somewhat comparable in deapth of color.I would probably end up choosing the light one and if necessary I would do a couple of layers. I really, really, really think that I found the secret to this stuff that it needs to be expressed from the pump and the first like two pumps or something, discarded, and then the next stuff is just fine. (This was actually something I learned about when I was coloring my hair!)The photograph shows both the light/ medium sample and the medium dark sample after a couple of days of washing it with soap. The sample closer to my wrist is the medium/ dark. The sample closer to my inner elbow, is the light/ medium. The second photo was my calf leg and it was the darker color. I wanted to see about the intensity if it’s put on thick or put on thin.I was definitely disappointed with it in the first two days, but I am now definitely not disappointed! Oh and the smell? Actually to me it smelled like vanilla baked goods. Isn’t that interesting? Some people report that it doesn’t smell good but to me it smelt like vanilla baked goods. You have to shake it and express the first pump or two.

I recently tried the Self Tanner Mousse, and I’m absolutely in love with it! As someone who’s always looking for a healthy, sunless tan, this product is a game changer. I have been using their cream for years, but wanted to try other products from this line, so I bought this mousse (and the drops mainly for my face). Let’s just say I’m in love with my glorious tan! My body is weird – the upper tans easily and fast while my legs stay many shades lighter, no matter how much sun exposure they get. The Beauty by Earth line has delivered where other mousse product (the green-tinged ones) have failed even with repeated application.First of all, this BE mousse is white so you don’t look like you’re trying to transform into an alien.Second – the smell – barely there but my nose is not as sensitive as it used to be before Covid, so your results might vary.Third – the mouse dries really fast, and no transfer to clothing or bedding (I do my application before bedtime). The cream used to transfer a bit onto the sheets but the mousse does not.I’d like to add that the drops are also excellent when used as directed. I use about 1/2 teaspoon of Ponds moisturizer mixed with 4 drops, every 3rd day, and the tan looks very natural, Exfoliating helps a lot and makes the color develop evenly, and it lasts – both from the mousse and the drops. Finally ALL of my parts look beautifully tanned! I wish these products were a tad cheaper but, considering how well this stuff works, I will continue to buy them. No more “past freak” look throughout the looooong Canadian winter 🙂

I’m no stranger to self tanners, but it has been awhile since I last tried one. First what I love:-applying it and having a tan later that same day-the smell is nice. Then it’s a bit weird, but then it’s completely gone and you smell like you again after a shower the next day-the colour. It seemed a bit yellow at first but after a shower it was the perfect, natural shade of brown-no streaks and buildable-less toxic than other brandsWhat I don’t like:-stays sticky on the skin for several hours-it did, in fact, transfer to my white sheets but I’m pretty confident it will come out because…-the tan does not last. If you swim or shower, you’re going to come out of the water noticeably lighter when you went in and have to reapply.

I love that this product is a foam, rather than the typical lotion. It spreads on very even compared to the lotions. I have a nice even tan that suits my fair skin. The results come up quick, so you make any adjustments necessary.The ingredients are all natural, so it achieves that clean beauty that everyone is looking for nowadays.One tiny draw back is the odor. I was wrong in my assumption that a natural product may smell better but nope, it’s the same as everything self-tanner out there.
