After the Gods War, Samkiel hid from everything, denying his crown and deserting his people. Now, an attack on those he loves sends him back to the realm he never wished to return to, and into the sights of an enemy he had hoped to forget.
With every world at stake, Dianna and Samkiel are forced to set aside their animosity and work together, before all is lost . . .

‘A wicked ride from beginning to heart shattering end. Leaving me literally screaming for more. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to get more our morally corrupt heroine who you can’t help but root for, along with the giggle inducing banter between her and the heroic god Samkiel’ HANNAH NICOLE MAERHER
‘Once in a while I read a series that reminds me of just why I love enemies to lovers, slow burn, and morally grey characters so much. Gods and Monsters is that series. This is perfection. Amber Nicole’s Dianna is the FMC of my soul’ NISHA J. TULI

Great book…. Keeps you guessing
*The Book of Azriel* is an exhilarating, high-stakes ride that grabs you from the very first page. The story follows Dianna, a complex character caught in a struggle between her sense of morality and the actions that threaten to define her as something she despises. Her internal battle is relatable, pulling readers into a whirlwind of doubt, self-reflection, and reluctant decisions. The tension builds as she crosses paths with Liam, and together, they are forced to confront not just their own demons, but the dangerous, unpredictable world around them. The plot is a masterclass in suspense, full of twists, betrayal, and unexpected alliances. No one is truly safe, and everyone has their own agenda—whether out of necessity or self-preservation. The writing keeps you guessing, with revelations unfolding just enough to keep you on edge, but never quite giving you all the answers. The stakes are high, the characters are layered, and the relationships—whether born from trust or manipulation—add a depth to the story that makes it impossible to put down. What sets this book apart is its ability to keep you on your toes. Just when you think you have a handle on the plot, new layers are uncovered, and the line between friend and foe becomes increasingly blurred. The emotional depth and the unpredictable nature of the story make this a five-star read without a doubt. Whether you’re a fan of fantasy, action, or intricate character studies, *The Book of Azriel* delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended!

Slow start, good second half.
Annoying FMC and MMC that suddenly get ironed out in the second half. A lot of mystery and not enough world building and character building to understand what’s happening. Good writing otherwise, adventure, politics, magic systems etc. More of a modern fairytale, so if you’re ok with your gods and monsters having cellphones….you’ll be fine. I like the characters in the end and I “might” reach for the second book.

How could you?!!
I’m beyond speechless right now. My heart is racing, tears rolling down my cheeks, and my soul is crying out. That ending just broke me.This was absolutely amazing. I can totally see the hype around this book. If not for me being sick, I know I would’ve finished it in a day. Everything about this hit. The dynamic and complex characters, the world and magic, the character arcs, the tension, and the development of Samkiel and Dianna’s relationship.I can see why everyone is so obsessed with Samkiel. He was fantastic. Full of depth and layers. A powerful being that feels so deeply. And Dianna was definitely what you would consider a girl boss—despite the situation she’s in with he who shall not be named. Her love for her sister was so beautiful. And necessary for others to see the humanity still in her. These two fit so well together. Samkiel needed someone who could force his walls down, and Dianna needed someone strong enough to not just handle her but willing to put her first.A part of me is glad I waited so long to read this since now I can jump right into book two and three. Which is what I’m about to do right now.

Top Fantasy Read of 2022 so far
This book 1000% exceeded my expectations. From the moment it started, I was thrown into a world with endless possibilities. I was introduced to many creatures and different worlds. This book is full of action, romance, and earth shattering moments.I was completely immersed in the story and found myself feeling anxious, surprised, upset, and angry while reading. There were also a few aww moments sprinkled in. The author’s writing easily allowed me to visualize everything that I was reading. I never wanted to put this book down.”Kaden. My maker, my lover, and the only reason my sister lived. She was why I did every single thing he asked.”From the beginning we’re introduced to a character that is rough around the edges. She is a badass Ig’Morruthen with only one care in the world; her sister Gabby. Dianna’s undying love for her sister resonated with me. She sacrificed her life for her sister and didn’t think twice about it. She accepted that her life would become a life of servitude and she was okay with it. She did what she had to to keep her sister safe.”I understood that she cared for her sister, but who cared for her?”This book is slow burn and enemies to lovers to the max. Holy hell. The banter between the two main characters is hysterical. Dianna is witty, sarcastic, and a lot to handle at times. Liam started off as cold, and calculating but as the story begins to unfold we get to see why he is the way he is. The character development of just him alone is exceptional. I loved reading the different dynamics of their relationship and watching it morph into something different.”I didnt remember how long we talked, but somewhere amidst her laughter and smiles, I decided I would rip the world apart for her.”The tension in this book is captivating and infuriating. The reader gets both points of view (which I love). We get to see the internal struggle both of the characters face regarding their feelings for one another. What started as a blood deal transpired into something totally different. Something beautiful.I cannot write enough good things about this book. I know the page count is a commitment but it is so worth it. This book easily made its way into one of my top 5 books of all time. Liam and Dianna will stay with me for quite some time. I am anticipating the second book in the series and hate that I have to wait for it!I was provided with this book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Too slow
I think the plot is fascinating, but it was slow paced. I wish the juicy scenes of the story happened earlier.

“The Book of Azrael” offers a captivating journey that enthralls from the first page to the last. Well-written and profoundly engaging, it masterfully weaves a tale that is both intricate and immersive. The characters are vividly drawn, with depth and complexity that promise even more in the upcoming books of the series. I thoroughly enjoyed the dark and rich narrative and look forward to continuing the series. Highly recommend for those who love a story that grips your soul and doesn’t let go!
