The Locked Door
Some doors are locked for a reason . . .
While eleven-year-old Nora Davis was up in her bedroom doing homework, she had no idea her father was killing women in the basement.
Until the day the police arrived at their front door.
Decades later, Nora’s father is spending his life behind bars, and Nora is a successful surgeon with a quiet, solitary existence. Nobody knows her father was a notorious serial killer. And she intends to keep it that way.
Then Nora discovers one of her young female patients has been murdered. In the same unique and horrific manner that her father used to kill his victims.
Somebody knows who Nora is. Somebody wants her to take the fall for this unthinkable crime. But she’s not a killer like her father. The police can’t pin anything on her.
As long as they don’t look in her basement.

A little gory but so worth the ride!
Another unstoppable thriller full of unexpected twists!! It’s fast paced reading. Some chapters are about the past childhood of the main character . I typically don’t continue with s book that flips from present to past, but this one was even better because of getting a little of the back story to make the reader keep guessing what will happen next. This author is such an outstanding writer leaving a big surprise until the last page.

Entertaining and fast paced
3.5: As usual Frieda McFadden delivers a fast paced and entertaining thriller. Was not my favorite of her thrillers, but I still really enjoyed it! It was a great palate cleanser after my last book that dragged and took me 3 weeks to read. I like the short chapters, and a compelling narrative, making it an easy, bing-worthy read. Lacks a little depth, but if you enjoy quick, easy thrillers with a solid premise it’s worth a read, just don’t expect anything groundbreaking.

Definitely a page turner!
Such a great suspense novel. I kept trying to guess who it was throughout the whole book, and never suspected the person it actually was. I really enjoy all of Frieda’s books. Fantastic author. I love her writing style. Definitely recommend!

The Locked Door by Frieda McFadden
I recently finished ‘The Locked Door’ by Frieda McFadden, and while it had some intriguing elements, I found it a bit underwhelming overall. The premise revolves around a woman with a dark past who becomes entangled in a web of mystery and suspense, which initially drew me in. McFadden’s writing is engaging, and she does a commendable job of building tension throughout the story. However, I felt that some plot twists were predictable, which took away from the overall impact. The character development could have been deeper, as I wanted to connect more with the protagonist. While it’s an enjoyable read for those who appreciate psychological thrillers, it didn’t quite meet my expectations. Three stars for an interesting concept, but it left me wanting more depth.

True McFadden Style
The Locked Door is worth your time to read! The twists are so intriguing and on the edge, you will never feel bored reading the novel. The characters are well developed and the killer is still a mystery until the end. Expectations are the only weakness in this book!

Pace/suspense
4.5 🌟This author is excellent in keeping the plot going with enough details for it to be an enjoyable read. the twist was great. I really enjoyed the book in its entirety, including the ending. She does not typically go into gory details nor does she go into a lot of Bedroom activity. I have already purchased two of her other books, and I will continue reading the rest of her books. Great read.

Easy read, short chapters. But wanted more
I absolutely loved “The Locked Door” by Frieda McFadden! This book kept me hooked from start to finish. While some readers have criticized it for being repetitive or lacking in character development for Nora, I completely disagree. Every detail, no matter how small, plays a crucial role in the narrative. Even something as so small, like how Nora likes to drink her coffee provides a deeper understanding of her character. These small details give insight into her personality and hint at her similarities with her father, a notorious serial killer.I found Nora to be a fascinating character. Yes, she was cold and distant, and she didn’t show a lot of emotions, but this portrayal was intentional and effective. It highlighted her potential psychopathic traits while distinguishing her from her father. The questioning around whether she is like her father or not added a thrilling layer to the story. The alternating timelines between the present and the past were nice to read , offering a view of Nora’s character and her relationship with her father before his capture. However, I do wish there was more exploration of Nora’s childhood. There were some gaps that left me wanting more about her early years. My one thing was that it felt like it ended too abruptly. Yes, we all want a happy ending, but we are reading about possible suspects and everything that has happened so far and BAM. We get our answer so quickly. Too quickly. That whole scene doesn’t last long and left me wanting more.Overall, this book is an easy read with short chapters that make it hard to put down. If you’re looking for an engaging and enjoyable read with a plot twist at the end, I highly recommend “The Locked Door.”

The Locked Door is seriously awesome! This, after being 𝗪𝗢𝗪’𝗱 by The Housemaid reeled me for real!🚪 It’s got this killer combo of suspense, mystery, and feels. It is fast-paced so I sped through it with the girls and enjoyed it.🚪 The plot keeps you hooked with an irresistible narrative pull. You won’t guess what’s waiting for you in the next page and chapter which makes the book way more interesting.🚪 And the characters? I got seriously mislead all the way on who really did it. Now, that’s clever! Everyone are just plain relatable and suspicious! 😉 I don’t blame anyone for getting spooked by Nora. She’s her father’s daughter after all. 🤨🚪 The plot twists and the reveal say so much on McFadden’s writing style — totally 𝗝𝗔𝗪 𝗗𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗚 like no other! 🤩Plus of course, there’s nothing more fun than reading with a bunch of my book besties💕Our buddy reads are either filled with spoilers, cheaters, or wrong-guesses! 😂😂😂So if you’re into something different and a page-turner, give this a shot! ♥️
