Captivatingly torturous
For those who read Fifty Shades of Grey, this trilogy makes spending time with Christian Grey look easy. I’d take a punishment spanking from him any day over what happens to Beauty. As I started with the first book I imagined a slightly different tale of Sleeping Beauty with some sexually explicit undertones. What I read was something quite different. I didn’t know if I would enjoy reading a story that caused such sexual torment and angst but I admit, I couldn’t put it down and jumped right into the other two books to see how the story unfolded and ended. I found myself captivated by the intertwining stories of Beauty, Laurent and Tristan and suffered right along with them when their worlds and ideals were shaken and tested. Eroticism and sexual tension mixed with feelings of torture, humiliation and love that these characters and others endured and found were evident on every page. I think I would have begged for death then think I could survive that life, but found myself very intrigued to think I could have. As the story unfolded I began to see that what I thought of as a miserable way to be punished and live, to learn strength and humility began to serve a purpose in who these people became and their outcomes. The trilogy screams sex of all types, but it is also more than that, its multiple stories of finding oneself, of finding your place in life and of love. Maybe not in the sense we are used to, but nonetheless its there to be found. The trilogy can be a bit intense and uncomfortable a read at times due to the subject matter, but in the end the story is captivating and makes you stop and think. A great and a fitting ending for Beauty, Laurent and Tristen. Sad to see them go. Enjoy!

I read these books about 35 years ago. My set got destroyed in a flood. Can’t wait to read them again. Sexy, erotica. Anne Rice/Roquelaure can really spin a tale! I have looked for a reasonably priced set for several years.

So I have read these books before and they were amazing. I lost one over time so I rebought the trilogy. So the books are great but I have to return bc they sent me 2 of the 3rd book. Already got Amazon to send return label. Delivery was very quick for first delivery but maybe too quick to look over the item to ensure I was getting the right books. I’m just hoping asking for a return and replacement of same item will get me the correct 3 lol.

This takes sleeping beauty to a new level. This is not your child’s bedtime story! It drew me in quick and I fell in love. It did loose me a bit by book 3 and I can’t tell you what didn’t keep me as enthused but I did finish it. This does open a world of new um…exploration so be ready!

Horrendous!
If I could give this book series zero stars I would. It’s partly my own fault, I did not do more research. This book is quite frankly revolting. I was thinking it would be a kinky version of Sleeping beauty with a lot of twists and turns but was horribly mistaken.Basically the first three chapters, which is all I could stomach, is just the MMC humiliating and degrading the MFC in absolutely horrific ways. I understand its a BDSM novel and I might not have fully understood what that was. Honesty I thought even in BDSM things were consenual but with bondage, toys, and other things. Either I was wrong or this book does not fall under that catagory. There is rape, humiliation and degradation and the female is quite literally a slave with no say in anything.Nontheless I am also disgusted that for someone who clames to be pro women and women’s right (literally writes a preface about being pro women) Anne Rice does not write this book like she likes women but rather likes them to be slaves to men. I would advise that anyone planning to buy this novel do a lot of reaserch first or you might end up like me, out money and completely horrified. I immediately got rid of the books, I couldn’t have this trash in my house!Also those that compaire this took to Fifty Shades Of Grey are insulting FSOG because that was a kinky but consensual love story this crap is just disgusting!

Bjr,J’en ai lu des livres, Amazon peut en témoigner les multi-commande que j’ai fait, mais là, j’ai commandé la trilogie et je n’arrive vraiment pas lire le premier volume, tellement c’est con.Sorry à l’auteur, qui voulait probablement trop faire, mais je vais m’en débarrasser, je ne vais pas me forcer à continuer à lire!Amazon nous demande notre avis trop vite quand cela concerne les livres, il faut tout de même d’abord les lire avant de pouvoir donner un commentaire.Bon dans ce cas c’était trop difficile à continuer.
