A Fantastic Story with Wonderful Illustrations!
A charming and funny story told from the dog’s perspective! It’s a delightful look at how he feels about his family, full of humor and heart. The rhythmic storytelling makes it even more fun to read, making this a great book to enjoy anytime.

Funny and very true
This is an awesome rhyming story (poem) that lets us know what one pup thinks. With AWESOME illustrations that go with the poem we become privy to the thoughts of one fearless pup as he makes it through life at the hands of his adoring (cough, cough), small humans. Children will giggle all the way through the story. As a poet for 60+ years I have to comment on the poetry of the story. Way too many people seem to believe they can write poetry and therefore HAVE to share their talent with young readers. Unfortunately a large number of them have little or no understanding of the craft. The rhymes are fairly good most of the time, but oh what a mess the rhythm often is. Yes, I know about free verse with no rhythm necessary. However, when you present a story as a poem, the rhythm needs to at least be in the ball park. Sure, every now and then there can be an extra syllable because it reads like it sounds when we speak. In those instances it sounds off if the meter IS intact. Most people would say they don’t like poetry. They may or may not be correct. As a music major I like different types of music, but that doesn’t mean that I like ALL “music”. I use quotation marks because when people are just screaming, I don’t call that music no matter what others think about it. The same holds true for poetry. Someone may NOT like it, but that is often because they have been repeatedly subjected to terrible examples of the craft. Many of those experiences began at a very young age. What I want you to understand is that THIS story works very well both rhythmically and in rhyme. THIS is the kind of poetry children need to hear at a young age so they can grow up knowing poetry doesn’t have to be something to avoid or dislike. It can in fact be a beautiful thing. Share this story with your children and give them a quality exposure to poetry. WELL DONE, Katie! Well done!

Unique and original
Such a cute and original story from the perspective of a pup. Reading this to my girls since we are a household to five pups. My favorite part is the gentle lessons for kids at the end on how to live and interact with pups. It’s cute and funny and I’m sure my girls relate.

Really enjoyed this story. Third to fourth grade reading level, possibly a high second grade reader. Will get lots of laughs.

great story tricky language for target group
Super cute but my young children didn’t understand all the references ages 3 and 5. Nice illustrations. Cute little book.

I think my dog wrote this.
This book is hilarious and for anybody who has both dogs and young children you will swear that your pet wrote this book. My children asked for this particular book on repeat and I don’t mind reading it over and over again. The illustrations are top-notch and it does teach children about respecting pets and maintaining a healthy relationship with their animals. We used this book as we were talking about my oldest, not trying to tackle our animal, and it helped quite a bit

Beautiful book
I purchased this book for my 5 year old grandson. He absolutely loves my pit bull Maggie so I knew he’d love this book. Plus, he was about to be a big brother after having 5 years of having his parents to himself. This book is both an educational book as well as a fun book. It’s about “Maggie’s point of view” as we will tell him. It’s a lot about right and wrong but in a very cute and fun way.The illustrations are beautiful. They are cute enough to be framed. This is an excellent children’s book and I would highly recommend it.

FUN TO READ
I enjoyed this book. The wording was creative, and it was a fun read. As a writer, I like to see what others are reading, and this was a good find.

As we were reading this book, my kids were giggling as we turned each page and read another complaint by Dog, that they also do with our family dog. Very relatable for kids with pets. Love all the smiles this book brings!
