I am a Doctor of Chiropractic, so I’m very particular with how my shoes compliment the biomechanics of the human foot. The only casual shoes that I wear now are Whitin. I can wear these shoes comfortably with or without socks. They look super cool, and they are very affordable. I have found that they hold up well. I bought this model, plus another model. I have had them for at least 6 months and I am very satisfied. What I love about Whitin shoes are the fact that they are built to allow the human foot to simply do what it was designed to do. This is accomplished in these shoes by having no incline in the heel (zero drop) so the posterior chain of your leg (calf and hamstrings) are not flexed and shortened, and by having a wide toe box so that your toes can spread out as far as they need to. A zero drop and a wide toe box allow for the proper motion of the 26 bones within the foot. When the foot moves properly, it absorbs shock. If the foot doesn’t move properly, such as when you are wearing bad shoes (please note: 99% of shoes are made with an incline in the heel and a narrow toe box, and are therefore classified as bad in this doctors opinion), shock will not get absorbed by the foot as well and will get absorbed by your knees, hips, and spine, especially the low back. Whitin shoes are also great because they are minimalist and have a thin sole. This allows for greater proprioception between the brain and the feet (proprioception is the brains ability to sense where body parts are in space). In essence, when you buy shoes, you want them to mimic walking barefoot. Whitin allows for your feet to do this. I recommend these shoes to patients on a weekly basis. If you are a human and you have feet, find yourself some high-quality zero drop, wide toe box shoes like Whitins!

Comfortable, great for work
I usually wear a wide mens size 9. These have a very wide toe box, so I ended up with a mens 8.5.I love these minimalist shoes! I often wear flair pants at work, and these shoes almost disappear under my pants. They are very comfortable, especially if you are doing a lot of light walking and sitting. These are not high support shoes, so you may opt for more support if you are doing several miles of walking. I also love that these shoes breath, so they work well in warmer weather. I am a traveling salesperson, so I do spend a lot of time sitting in cars with short spurts of running into stores. These work wonders, and they look professional under my pants. Will def buy again when these wear out.*Note, these are a relatively inexpensive shoe. I dont expect these to last several years. That being said, I think you absolutely get your moneys worth.

Nice wide toe box
Good shoe if you’re looking to get into zero drop, foot shaped shoes without breaking the bank. A lot of foot shaped zero drop shoes are $100+. If you’re just getting into these types of shoes, that’s a lot to invest in something you might not end up using.Shoe has good traction, nice heel cushion, and looks like a regular shoe at first glance. One issue I have in particular is the lacing system could be improved. I have my laces tightened all the way to the point it can’t tighten anymore, but it’s still pretty loose, I can slip them on and off without having to retie them, that’s how loose they are.Other than that, it’s a good daily walking shoe.

Most comfortable walking show I’ve ever had
These are the most comfortable shoes i have ever owned. They are wide, light, fit well. And the sole has held up much better than expected after walking many miles on pavement. Not fashionable or dressy. Not a tough hiking boot. But if you want a comfortable walking shoe, this is it.

Wide feet like! Low quality material.
For the first 6months: Office work, wearing them only about 3 days a week and only at work. Did not wear them outside or at home. So really light casual use is where the damage occurred. So they wear out fast. Not a con because it was expected:-the flat sole, limited cushion takes a while to get used to, but I hear it’s better for you. And I think it has strengthened my feet and back is hurting less. Now that they are worn, I just started using them outside. Learning curve when walking on rocks. If you heel step, it will hurt.Pro:I have wide feet and I am loving the extra room. I would like some more, but these don’t hurt my feet like vans. I have noticed a gap starting to form between my toes, meaning my feet are getting used to the room! Yay.Cons:-2month: They were BLACK but color faded after about a month.-4month: glue is starting to give but hasn’t gotten worst than the pic.-5month: canvas tearing inside and there is some plastic piece that broke in to little pieces that make it feel like rocks in my shoe when they come out.Overall: I applaud WHITTIN for providing a wide toe shoe against the norm. I’m sold on the wide toe and that alone gave me a positive experience. But, I will try other brands on my next purchase in hopes of better quality material and a longer lasting shoe for my money. Torn between 3-4 stars, but went with 3 because of how fast the canvas wore out.

Great shoes, worth it
I recently started getting into barefoot style shoes and these were awesome to start with. They offer a slight amount of support without offering too much. I was pretty sore initially in my legs from using these which I take as a good sign. They are extremely comfortable. The shoes seem durable enough, but time will tell. The toe box is enormous and if you have wide feet these will be great. I anticipate with a little training I’ll enjoy wearing these all the time for walking.

My new favorite shoe
These are great. I was skeptical at first, but if you are looking for a comfortable barefoot style shoe do not look any further. These are super comfortable, and construction of the upper is very nice. The sole is thin and flexible so be prepared for that, you can feel items when you step on them, but then again it’s a barefoot shoe.Has a nice cushioned heel that makes it so blisters are not an issue. If you want a true barefoot shoe at an amazing price get these.

I went out for a long walk in these right after I got them, my feet feel so much more free in them and I feel like I’m actually walking with my feet, not with the shoe! They’re even better to wear without the added insole, i also noticed my walking gait was better and my back wasn’t leaning forward.I’m definitely buying another pair! Well worth the price.

Although these are called running shoes, they are ideal for HIIT bodyweight/calisthenics workouts. I’m a big user of the Freeletics workout app, and these are perfect for doing things like burpees and mountain climbers, when having a huge foam heel can be detrimental to your form. They are low key enough that they can be worn outside, unless you deliberately point out the wide toe box, nobody would notice. They provide a great “ground-feel” as well, which makes you feel more stable when walking about

I recently made the decision to transition to barefoot shoes after immersing myself in YouTube videos on the subject. After some thorough research, I stumbled upon these particular barefoot shoes, which had garnered fantastic reviews. To get acclimated to this new footwear, I began by gradually increasing my usage. I started by walking around my house, then incorporated them into my daily work routine, and finally ventured out for longer walks. Over time, I took on the challenge of running, initially covering a mere 500 meters and progressively extending my distances. My primary motivation for making the switch was to address chronic knee issues. I hoped that by landing on the balls of my feet and minimizing the impact on my knees with each stride, I could find relief. And boy, did these shoes deliver a life-changing transformation! My knees and overall body felt remarkably better. These shoes are not only transformative but also exceptionally well-crafted. I’ve practically lived in them since the day I purchased them, and they appear as though they haven’t aged a day. Even more impressive, they are incredibly resistant to staining and offer superb grip.If I were to nitpick, I’d mention that they tend to squeak when dragged across linoleum or vinyl surfaces. However, during regular walking and running, they are astonishingly quiet. In fact, I’m so thrilled with these shoes that I’m in the process of ordering more pairs for different occasions. They are, without a doubt, absolutely brilliant. These shoes have not only improved my comfort and well-being but also my perspective on footwear. Highly recommended!
